As Tuesday draws to a close, Jesus leaves the temple for the last time and crosses the Kidron Valley to the Mount of Olives. There, overlooking Jerusalem, His public confrontation with Israel's leaders gives way to a private discourse with His disciples. Speaking of both the coming destruction of Jerusalem and His eventual return in glory, He calls His followers to faithful endurance, constant watchfulness, and readiness for the day when the Son of Man will come again.
